Hello friends, family, soon-to-be friends, and maybe even soon-to-be-family (one never knows)! Welcome to my website and accompanying blog. I hope these posts will bring some insights into my life and the world around me, as I am certainly in the autumn of my life (and fast transitioning to the winter I'm thinking), and I realized I have a lot to share. Hopefully, they might bring even a little bit of joy into your lives as well, if only in a very small way - especially when I make light of my favorite target: ME! . Hey - if you can't laugh at your own dumb mistakes... :)

As many of you may know, I have already published three children's books independently (see them on my website soon) but completely fell apart in the summer of 2024 when my dear partner and husband Tom died very unexpectedly and rather tragically...I will blog about that for sure another day. But the trauma and grief of his passing overtook my zest for this life, and I lost all interest in continuing my writing and original business. It was only through the encouragment of a new friend that I resurrected Sonburst Bk, LLC and am currently working on two new children's books and an education book which will hopefully be the first in a series. Forget retirement: I am certainly busy enough now!

My goal is to update the blog weekly, and more often if possible: it depends on how many 3AM ideas come crashing into my brain each night! I know my dogs are confused when they think we are tucked in for the night - and then I fly (okay, kinda half drag myself) out of bed a couple of times when those ideas hit full blast. I can't imagine what would happen if I truly drank caffeine for dinner.

So please come along with me on this journey. There's a lot to be said as I look toward another tomorrow - or not. Yes, not all posts will be fun or funny. Life can be cruel and sad and almost unbearable. But I've learned that God was wise in giving us emotions. Laughter helps get us through the bad stuff so that we can, indeed, live another day. Remember this as we journey:

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens (Ecclesiates 3:1 NIV)
